Welcome to the ORU Missions Parent Page!
We know how much you love and care for your student, and we want you to know that we do too.
At ORU Missions, your student’s safety, growth, and well-being are our top priorities as they step out to serve around the world.
We are honored to partner with you in supporting them on this life-changing journey and are here to provide the information, resources, and care you need every step of the way!

SAFETY AND SECURITY!
-
DIRECTOR ON-CALL
While students are in the field, our Directors are on-call 24/7 to support both teams and parents. They are available to assist with any travel issues, emergencies, or unexpected situations that may arise during the trip.
The emergency contact number is provided to all students and is also accessible to parents on the password-protected Parent Portal Page. Throughout the trip, Directors remain in constant communication with the Team Leader (TL) and Assistant Team Leader (ATL) to ensure everything runs smoothly.
-
SECURITY
We take the safety and security of our teams extremely seriously. All our mission trip locations are vetted through ORU’s travel committee, conversations with our contacts, research, and the State Travel Department.
Every student is enrolled in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). ORU Missions also partners with Global Guardian, which provides comprehensive 24/7 emergency services.
-
TRAVEL AGENCY
We work with a trusted travel agency that has maintained a strong partnership with the university for many years. Their dedicated travel agents assist with all flight arrangements for our teams during travel.
Detailed airline information and flight numbers are available to parents and guardians on the password-protected Parent Portal Page.
-
TRAINING PROCESS
Our mission process is approximately 8 months long, including extensive training for leaders and team members, fundraising, creating team culture and unity, fostering personal growth, and preparing for effective ministry.
-
STRONG PARTNERS
Our teams serve with trusted and tested ministries and contacts in the country. No teams are solely ORU ventures but work with verifiable organizations, churches, or missionaries doing long-term Kingdom work in their context.
-
NO ONE LEFT ALONE
Our students travel and do ministry as a team, leaving no person alone at any time. We emphasize and train the importance and value of team and sticking together. No one is ever left alone for any reason.
